What Type of eSports Games Can You Bet On?

Whilst the eSports industry is quite large by revenue and sponsorships, the number of games available within the betting industry is much smaller.

eSports betting is still in its early stages compared to what it could become in the next decade, but the games and events are highly entertaining, nonetheless. Here are some of the different games you can bet on for competitive eSports matches!

1. FPS Games

The most common types of eSports games are first-person shooters, such as Counterstrike Global Offensive. Typically, they involve 5v5 battles to the death, as players fight to defuse or defend a bomb.

Valorant is a game quite similar to CSGO, with the added benefit of unique character abilities for more creative warfare. Certain games are strategically focused such as Rainbow Six Siege, where players must use their damageable surroundings to their advantage.

An example of Rainbow Six match betting would be backing SSG to beat G2 eSports at odds of 2.30.

2. Battle Royale Games

Battle Royale Games involve a battle to become the last man standing across large scale maps. You can play in a variety of ways such as team-based quads or going solo for the lone wolves out there.

The first instance of this game mode began with Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, which featured a simple map with modern combat weapons such as Assault Rifles and Snipers. The game mode was then innovated by the likes of Fortnite, who introduced a damageable environment and economy system.

Then again it was redeveloped by Call of Duty Warzone, adding in killstreaks and respawning. Bets placed on this type of game mode are usually based on the winners of single games.

3. Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Games

MOBA games usually refer to the likes of DOTA, or League of Legends. Games involve a 5v5 match, where each team defends its base. Every player possesses a character with a unique ability, and teams work together to destroy the other teams Ancient in DOTA, or Nexus in LoL.

An example of betting on this would be map betting, where you bet on which team will win the first or last map of the match.
